Dr. Gaurav Sharma completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of
Technology Uttarakhand, India. He received his M.Tech. degree from the Department of Information
Technology (IT), Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, India in 2010. Presently, he
is working as an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science & Engineering Department, Himalayan
School of Engineering and Technology, Dehradun Uttarakhand, India. Before this assignment, Dr.
Sharma spent about 2.5 years at Dev Bhoomi Institute of Engineering & Technology, Dehradun, as an
Assistant Professor from July 2012 to February 2015 where he was responsible for various Academic
and Administrative activities. Previous to this, Dr. Sharma worked as an Assistant Professor at SGIT
Ghaziabad for more than a year. Dr. Sharma also worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of
Information Technology at Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad, India during his M.
Tech. work. Dr. Sharma started his professional journey in 2007 when he joined Wipro Infotech asa
network engineer and Served ITC Ltd. He conducted various technical and cultural programs as a
head of the organizing committees during graduate and post-graduate courses and conducted various
sports meetings and technical events. Dr. Sharma has more than 16 years of experience in teaching,
research, and Industry. His research interests include Video and Image Salient Object Detection,
Image Processing, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision. He authored technical research articles in reputed international conferences and journals in these areas. He is
keen of web development and search engine optimization
